How to Prevent Bridging of Pasta in a Grinder

In food processing, large pieces of pasta or macaroni, due to their large size and hard texture, often become bridging in the feed hopper when directly processed by a  grinder, preventing them from falling into the crushing chamber. Manufacturers are forced to reduce production speed and manually handle the pasta, which not only reduces capacity and labor costs but can also accelerate equipment wear.

The best solution to this problem is to pre-process the pasta with a coarse crusher before using a grinder for finer crushing. The coarse crusher first breaks the large pieces of pasta into small to medium-sized particles, thus completely eliminating bridging and clogging issues.
